About the Festival

21st Century Films
( A Division of DMES Canada)

In collaboration with an Indian partner,
we organize the annual
Short Film Festival of India
Short Film Festival of India (SFFI)  showcases works that celebrate
diverse cultures, aesthetic traditions, social and political themes and
other works that challenge and transcend expectations. Particular
focus is on films that go beyond conventional limits and methods and
employ novel themes, cutting-edge technology, and unconventional
visual effects, although all films-- traditional and provocative-- are
welcome.

In the past, the festival was held in
Chennai
and
Guwahati

We are in the process of organizing a
year round rolling festival in India. Return
to this site for information on this
exciting event.

All Submissions should be made through the paper-less system of

SFFI strikes an eclectic and cosmopolitan balance of films. You might,
for instance, watch a somber ten minute social commentary on child
labour, followed by an audacious, experimental non-narrative on the
Arctic, followed by a bawdy animated short about the romantic
entanglements of match-sticks in a box. The spirit of the Festival is a
celebration of engaging  films whatever their themes are. Only
extreme nudity and violence are shunned.
